Dunwoody’s public schools are run by the DeKalb County School District, not by the city. Eight district schools serve the city: six elementary schools, Peachtree Middle and Dunwoody High. Hightower Elementary sits just over the line in Doraville but serves part of east Dunwoody.

Zones are set by the district and do not follow city limits. Check one address with the district’s school locator before you buy or rent. The district’s main number is 678-676-1200.

Each school below has its own page with the address, phone, principal, report card, zone, feeder schools and calendar. Calendar, registration and Board of Education details are in our Dunwoody schools guide.

Every elementary school in the table feeds Peachtree Middle and then Dunwoody High, according to Dunwoody High’s feeder schools page. Enrollment and CCRPI scores are from the state’s 2025 School Grades data; each score links to that school’s state report card. The 2025 Georgia averages were 78.6 for elementary, 78.4 for middle and 76.9 for high schools.

CCRPI is the Georgia Department of Education’s “comprehensive school improvement, accountability, and communication platform,” according to GaDOE. The single score runs from 0 to 100 and is built from content mastery, progress, closing gaps and readiness, plus graduation rate for high schools. Georgia does not publish an A-to-F letter grade for schools in its 2025 data. A single school’s score can move 10 points or more from one year to the next, so each school page shows three years.
