Brook Run Park

The city calls Brook Run its signature park. From the city’s Brook Run page:

  • Multi-use trail: 1.8 miles around the park, part of the Dunwoody Trailway. A connector at the back of the park leads to Pernoshal Park and on to Georgetown Park; the Brook Run and Pernoshal trails together make about a 5K.
  • Playground and children’s adventure garden: separate structures for toddlers and older children, with shade.
  • Skate park: 27,000 square feet, which the city says is the largest in metro Atlanta. Helmets are required. Open year-round, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
  • Dog park: about two fenced, wooded acres with double gates, open 7 a.m. to sunset. Dogs must be on a leash everywhere else in the park, including between the car and the gate.
  • Treetop Quest: a private zip-line and ropes course with 52 obstacles and 12 zip-lines.
  • Also: a wooded disc golf course with nine tee pads, two turf baseball fields, two turf multi-use fields, the amphitheater and Great Lawn, pavilions and the Dunwoody Community Garden and Orchard.

The multi-use fields are open for free play outside scheduled programs, including 8 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and 7 to 9 a.m. Sundays on Field 1. A second entrance off Barclay Drive serves the fields.

Dunwoody Park and Nature Center

The 25-acre Dunwoody Park on Roberts Drive is mostly nature preserve, with hiking trails along Wildcat Creek, a hidden playground on the east side of the creek, and the Dunwoody Nature Center, which runs programs year-round. This month the center holds a Fall Family Campout on Oct. 17-18; see things to do this month.

Two Bridges Park and the splash pad

The five-acre Two Bridges Park, 50 Perimeter Center East, has the city’s first splash pad, plus a playground, first-come pavilions, restrooms, exercise equipment and trails. The splash pad runs 30 minutes per push of the button, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the 2026 season ran May through September, the city says. A pedestrian bridge over the North Fork of Nancy Creek ties the park to the Dunwoody Trailway and Georgetown. The pavilion is first come, first served and cannot be rented.

Renting a pavilion or field

Book city pavilions and fields at parks.dunwoodyga.gov. The large pavilion at Brook Run overlooks the Great Lawn; park near the Peeler Road entrance.

What this means for you

  • The splash pad is closed for the season until late spring.
  • Bring a helmet to the skate park and a leash to everywhere but the dog park.
  • For a 5K loop, combine the Brook Run and Pernoshal Park trails.
