Fireworks: what the city allows

Dunwoody has no public New Year’s Eve fireworks show that we could find. For home fireworks, the city’s fireworks ordinance page sets longer hours for the holiday:

When	Consumer fireworks allowed
Most of the year	Not after 9 p.m. or before 10 a.m.
Thursday, Dec. 31	10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 1	Midnight to 1 a.m., then 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

The full rule is in Section 18-19 of the city code. The Police Department asks for ordinance violations to be reported to 911 as they happen.

Events

Holiday Lights at Brook Run Park, final night. The free walk-through display of about 100,000 lights at Brook Run Park, 4770 N. Peachtree Road, shines nightly through Dec. 31, according to the city’s Holiday Lights page. A free family stop before the countdown. More on our holiday lights page.

Parties and countdowns. No bar, hotel or restaurant around Perimeter Center, High Street, Ashford Lane or Dunwoody Village had announced 2026 New Year’s Eve plans on its own site when we checked. Venues: send us your New Year’s Eve event with a link and we will add it. Our live music and nightlife guide lists the venues.
